Due to a weather warning, the Golf Trophy scheduled for mid-October in Puntiró has been postponed. The new date is Sunday, November 16 — bookings will be automatically transferred.
From the Green to the Weather's Waiting Room
Originally, on Saturday, October 11, the ball should have been center stage at the facility in T Golf Puntiró. Instead, on Thursday morning a warning from the Spanish weather service Aemet forced the organizers to pull the plug. The forecast: heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms, and the possibility the yellow warning could be raised to orange. In such a scenario, the risk for players and volunteers is simply too high.
Why Postponement Makes Sense
It may sound boring, but it's true: softened fairways, puddles on the tees, and slippery tee mats are no fun — and can lead to injuries. Add the danger of lightning and strong winds when the air charges. On the 18 holes at Puntiró, near the road toward Son Sardina, safety is paramount. Therefore the organizers decided to reschedule the event rather than hold the tournament under unsafe conditions.
New date: The Golf Trophy powered by Minkner & Bonitz will now take place on Sunday, November 16. Planned start as before in the morning (shotgun at 10:00 a.m.), followed by an awards ceremony and a small reception in the clubhouse — of course only if the situation allows.
Administrative Details and Notes
Good news for all registered players: bookings, green fees and tee times will be automatically transferred to the new date by T Golf Palma Puntiró. If you cannot participate on November 16, please contact as soon as possible by email at palma@t-golf.club. The club administration will assist with rebooking or refunds.
Practical tips: If you already made travel plans for the original date — check your accommodations and ferries, and keep an eye on weather apps. A quick look at the local route N-xxxx toward Puntiró is often enough to decide whether to head out early or take the day at a relaxed pace.
A Small Promise
The organizers stress: the postponement is not a cancellation. They want to run the tournament in a way that players and the volunteer team can enjoy the day — dry, safe, and with room for a beer after the round. It may disappoint if you waited for the green on Saturday, but November often brings a different, very pleasant light to the island. Those who have played Puntiró in late autumn know what we mean.
For questions about participation or other details, please reach the secretariat of T Golf Puntiró by email or by phone through the usual channels. And yes: we hope for sunshine — but we would rather take a safe, if somewhat later, game day.
