Rainy night and wet morning: caution on the promenade

If you woke up early today at Playa de Santa Ponsa, you have probably heard the patter: a weather shift that briefly puts late summer on pause. The forecast is clear — 100% cloud cover and a nearly 100% chance of rain mean heavy showers, at times even stronger.

How the day feels

Temperature-wise, the day swings between a warm late-summer breeze and a fresh gust: The low temperatures are just under 20 °C (about 19.9 °C), the highs reach around 27.1 °C. It still sounds like summer, but it feels different: the perceived temperatures feel a bit warmer in the morning and drop noticeably in the afternoon when the rain begins. In short – don't forget the jacket, even if the sun breaks through from time to time.

On the main road toward Andratx, puddle formation is common in such situations; drivers should reduce speed.

Looking across the neighborhood, I heard this morning an elderly lady at the bakery on Plaça say that rain is good for the earth, but the plants have had enough sun already. Such voices show that the rain on the island arrives less spectacular than necessary, but more truly.
