To start the week, Palma brings mild autumn weather with scattered showers. Don’t forget an umbrella, but you don’t need to bundle up.
Rainy Day with Sunny Spells: This is How the Day Will Unfold in Palma
Autumn shows Palma in its changeable mood. For the coming day, moderate rain is forecast, combined with rather mild temperatures – typical for our island in autumn. If you walk in the morning along Passeig del Born, the drizzle adds a bit of atmosphere, but no need for a winter coat.
Temperatures Throughout the Day
Morning values are around 19 °C, in the afternoon the thermometer rises to about 25 °C. The evening falls again to around 21 °C, and the night stays mild at just under 21 °C. In short: warm enough for a light sweater, cool enough that an umbrella makes sense.
How It Feels
Feels very close to the measured values. Due to cloud cover it can feel somewhat cooler at times, especially when a shower passes by: then the Portixol ferry café suddenly becomes more popular than usual.
Wind, Pressure, Humidity
The atmospheric pressure remains stable at about 1021 hPa. Humidity hovers around 55 %, which feels pleasant during the day but at night can give a slightly musty impression if windows stay closed. The wind comes from the southwest at around 4.7 m/s (roughly 17 km/h), gusts up to about 6.8 m/s are possible – you feel it more at sea than in the city.
Clouds and Precipitation
Cloud cover stays modest (about 29 % sky coverage), yet the probability of rain is given as 100 %. That means somewhere in Palma or nearby suburbs it will definitely occur, often in the form of moderate showers, not necessarily lasting rain. Perfect for shoes that can handle a bit of water.
My tip: Don't push the umbrella all the way out of your car or bag. If you plan to stroll through Mercat de l'Olivar in the afternoon, allow a 15-minute buffer – the stalls get wet quickly and vendors sometimes pack up briskly.
All in all a classic island autumn day: changeable, mild, with enough rain for a few green splashes in the parks. If you plan to head out to sea: better check with the harbor first – the short gusts make the crossing rougher than you might expect on a summer day.
