Mostly cloudy but pleasantly warm: Sóller experiences a mild late-summer day with a light breeze and little rain risk. A small tip for the evening.
Mixed Sky, Pleasant Temperatures
Today Sóller is under a dense cloud cover, yet the day feels more like a typical late-summer day. In the morning it was already comfortably warm — just over 22 °C — the sun hardly managed to break through, the tram to Palma still looked full of excursionists as I would have expected (around 9:15 a.m. people with backpacks were still on board).
Temperatures throughout the day
The high values climbed to around 29 °C, by the afternoon the thermometer fell again to about 26 °C. At night we expect mild 23 °C. In short: warm, but not oppressive — ideal if you stroll through the old town in the morning and have a coffee in the Port de Sóller in the afternoon.
What it feels like on the skin
The apparent temperatures differ little from the measured values. In the sun it's noticeably warmer, in the shade of the orange trees on the Plaça it's pleasant. If you're sensitive, you should still pack a light jacket for the evening — the mountainous corners cool down faster than by the sea.
Air pressure, humidity and wind
Air pressure remains stable at about 1024 hPa. Humidity is moderate at around 48%, that is: we don't have muggy sultriness, rather dry, clear air. The wind comes weak from east to southeast (roughly 112°) with gusts up to 3 m/s. For sailors and kite surfers: today not a day for “Action”, more for a relaxed glide.
Clouds yes, rain no
Despite reported cloud cover of almost 100%, the probability of rain is practically zero. The thick clouds offer somewhat protection from intense UV radiation — a small relief if someone forgot their sunscreen. Still: direct sun can break through, so please don't skip sun and skin protection entirely.
A few local observations
At the harbor, fishermen sat with coffee in hand, nets neatly folded, and on the main street there was a hint of freshly brewed espresso and fried fish — that's Sóller in late summer. The remnants of the midday crowd spread toward the tram station, some sought shade spots in the cafés on Carrer de sa Mar.
Short outlook
For the next 24–48 hours the pattern remains similar: mild nights, mostly cloudy by day, little wind and hardly any rain. For trips into the mountains I recommend leaving early in the morning — mornings are fresher and the clouds clear there more often.
Conclusion: A relaxed day in Sóller: clouds instead of sun, light breeze, pleasant temperatures. Pack a light jacket for the evening and enjoy the calm rhythm of the town — without hurry, but with the typical island flair.
