The Swiss semi-private airline is expanding its Mallorca program: starting mid-October, additional connections will be added, with Düsseldorf newly included. Small jets, high comfort.

New connection: Düsseldorf in the winter schedule

Small jet, big presence: The Swiss airline Travelcoup is expanding its winter program and will fly from Düsseldorf to Palma in the future. If you prefer leather seats on a plane and, instead of mass catering, a glass of champagne, you can do that soon from the Rhine metropolis. The season runs as planned from mid-October 2025 to the end of April 2026.

What changes

So far Munich and Zurich were fixed departure points on the schedule; now Düsseldorf is being added. The connections are planned weekly, and extra flights will be offered on holidays and around Christmas, New Year and Easter. If demand is strong, a second aircraft will be deployed—the company remains flexible.

The fleet and who the offer is for

Travelcoup operates two Embraer types: an ERJ 135 (about 16 seats) and an Embraer 145 (around 22 seats). These are not large airliners, but compact jets for small groups. In practice this means: faster boarding and disembarkation, less crowding at the gate and a noticeably quieter atmosphere on board. Such flights are often seen by people with properties on the island, dog owners, golfers, or business travelers looking to save time.

CEO Niclas Seitz says bookings around the holidays clearly showed the demand. In conversations at the airport I heard similar voices: a golfer from the Duisburg area said it would be practical to still be on the golf course on Saturday morning.

What it means for Mallorca

For Palma, every new connection adds more variety to the offering. At the same time, it's worth watching how such semi-private options affect local infrastructure and prices—especially in popular months. Incoming passengers land mostly relaxed, with no long transit times, which changes travel habits: quick check-in, coffee near the baggage claim, pick up a rental car and go.

Booking and practical notes

Those interested should compare travel times: early flights on Saturdays are popular, as are connections just before holidays. Note: semi-private flights are not a budget option, but they are more direct and with more service. At Düsseldorf Airport I heard Travelcoup will likely operate from Terminal A—making the journey convenient for people from the Ruhr area.

Conclusion: Not a flight for everyone, but an attractive addition for travelers with little time or the desire for a bit more comfort. Whether such offerings will endure remains to be seen in the next winter season.
