In Cala Millor, a calm drizzle ushers in autumn with mild temperatures, fresh sea air, and ideal conditions for a relaxed beach stroll.
Drizzle, Sea, and Mild Air: This is what autumn feels like in Cala Millor
On Cala Millor's Passeig Marítim, I watched my coffee balance in a paper cup this morning around 8:00, while the rain pretended it had nowhere to hurry. No storm, no heavy rain – more of a drizzle mode. For September 22, it feels like a stopover between summer and real autumn.
Temperatures: Warm enough for a sweater, cool enough for the umbrella
The official values are unusually cautious: the low around 20.67 ºC, high just under 26 ºC (exactly 25.94 ºC). The temperatures measured today were in the morning around 21.95 ºC, during the day at 21.46 ºC, in the afternoon gently falling to about 20.87 ºC and at night around 20.76 ºC. In short: slightly warm, but fresh enough for a light jacket.
Perceived values, air pressure and wind
Whoever, like me, goes by feel without a thermometer notices only small differences: the perceived temperatures range between 22.5 ºC in the morning and just under 20.8 ºC in the evening. The air pressure is about 1014 hPa, humidity around 79 % – that explains the slight moisture film on the beach loungers. The wind blows from North-Northeast (about 36°) at around 8.1 m/s, gusts up to nearly 8 m/s. That means: no sandstorm, but wet hair with an open coffee.
What you can plan
For a stroll along the promenade, the weather is ideal. The lifeguard chairs are empty, the sand is damp and firm underfoot – perfect for wandering. Pack a light umbrella or a thin rain jacket, the sun will pop through now and then, so sunglasses wouldn’t hurt either. Cafés like the small café next to the church have more regulars again, who are enjoying the calm autumn day.
In short: no weather thunderstorm, but a day to catch your breath. If you plan to eat outside in the evening, bring an extra layer of jumper. And yes: the seagulls apparently find the whole thing very pleasant.
