On-site snapshot: What October 10 will be like in Port d'Andratx

\n

Today I was around 9:15 AM at the Port d'Andratx mole. Grey clouds hung low over the boats, a fine drizzle began, and the air smelled of wet tar and seaweed. No storm, rather a steady, cool drizzle that made the promenade slippery – so wear sturdy shoes, not sandals.

Temperatures

\n

The day's range is tight: a low around about 20.3 °C and highs around 23.0 °C. In the morning the thermometer shows just over 20 °C, early afternoon peaks around 22–23 °C. In the evening it falls only moderately, so at night it stays around 21 °C.

\n

Perceived values and atmosphere

\n

Feels similar to the measured values: in the morning around 20.6 °C, during the day around 22.2 °C. The humid air makes the temperatures feel a bit heavier, yet it remains pleasantly mild – not a chilly October, more a damp late summer.

\n

Air pressure, humidity and wind

\n

Air pressure is around 1023 hPa, humidity is noticeably higher at about 62%. The wind comes from the northeast (approximately 55°) with an average speed of around 5.8 m/s and gusts up to 7.3 m/s. That's enough to test umbrellas in gusts properly.

\n

Clouds and probability of rain

\n

Cloud cover estimated at 50%. The probability of rain is high – today you can expect ongoing, moderate rain, with local showers possible. If you're planning a walk: pack a rain jacket, cafe breaks are good reasons to enjoy the view of the wet boats.

Practical tips for residents and visitors

\n

Harbor operators and boat owners should check lashings and any cover tensions; the waves are not high, but steady gusts can strain lines. The roads toward Camp de Mar are slippery with fallen leaves, so drive slowly. For trips into the Tramuntana mountains the weather is unreliable – in the mountains it can be noticeably cooler and wetter.

\n

Overall: a damp, mild October day in Port d'Andratx, no reason to panic, but be prepared. I'll swing by later to see if the gusts ease – and I'll report back with an update.
