Cinema Days: Fiesta del Cine Returns to Mallorca – Movies for €3.50

From 3 to 6 November, films at a special price will be shown in many cinemas on Mallorca. Pre-sale starts at the end of October – an ideal opportunity for a movie night in Palma or at the shopping mall.

Four days of cinema at a low price

\n

If you're up for a spontaneous movie night, mark the first week of November on your calendar: From November 3 to 6, Fiesta del Cine takes place across Spain again. In translation: Tickets for selected screenings are available at a flat rate of €3.50. In Mallorca, several venues are participating again this time – so good chances to find a screening near you.

Which cinemas are involved?

\n

In Palma, the following venues are taking part: the Ocimax, the small but fine CineCiutat and the Sala Rívoli. Additionally, cinemas in the shopping centers Porto Pi and FAN participate. Whether your village cinema in the Tramuntana also joins is worth checking shortly before the start – the lists are usually updated just before.

Presale and tips

\n

The presale begins on 29 October. Most venues open their online boxes in the morning, some also issue tickets directly at the box office in the evening. My tip after years of similar actions: reserve early, especially for premieres or family films. If you want to go in the evening after work spontaneously, you have good chances for late showings in Palma – once a film gets a lot of hype, rows fill quickly.

What’s playing?

\n

The program varies by cinema. In previous editions in June, for example, animated films for children ran alongside big action and drama films. So: popcorn for the little ones, thrillers for the bold – or vice versa, depending on how the evening goes. The exact showtimes and titles are published separately by each cinema, so check the site ahead of time.

\n\n

Practical: €3.50 not only saves money, but also invites you to discover new directors or films you might not choose otherwise. For families, this is a nice way to go to the cinema with little effort – especially on rainy days or when the outside temperatures are already autumnal.

Final note

\n

If you plan to go: take a bit of time, especially on weekends. The box offices are often busy, and sometimes the coffee before the film needs five more minutes. And yes, for those who want to have dinner after the film: in Palma you can usually find open tapas bars around the bigger cinemas – handy if the plot runs late into the evening.
