Adjusted departure times and additional services on two TIB routes start today — commuters and students in particular will benefit from improved punctuality.
Small changes, noticeable effect
As of today, new timetables are in effect on TIB lines 304 and 312. It may sound unspectacular, but it's practical for many: some departures have been moved earlier, while additional runs have been added in other places. If you commute to work or school in the morning, you'll notice the difference in the first week.
What exactly changes?
On line 304, which runs from Inca via Sencelles to Palma, there are extra evening services. Particularly notable is the new trip at 8:45 PM from Biniali towards Palma — an option often requested by residents of villages like Biniali or Sencelles. Several commuters I saw at the bus station said today that this was long overdue.
Line 312 (Lluc–Inca–Muro) has been adjusted at two departures: they have been moved slightly earlier so passengers arrive in Inca on time and can catch connecting trains or school buses. The goal: at least one arrival before 8:00 AM in Inca so students and workers don't have to rush.
Why these changes?
The TIB justifies the changes with the desire for greater flexibility for commuters and students. Traffic on Mallorca is often defined by small time windows: a single delay in the morning can disrupt a whole chain. By shifting departures and adding an extra evening connection, transport planners hope to cushion that effect.
What you should know
The changes are effective immediately. If you want to check your route, it’s worth looking at the current TIB timetables or checking briefly at the stop. Expect minor adjustments in operations during the first days — transitions always need a few runs to settle.
And a tip on the side: if it still rains this morning or a strong Tramuntana wind is blowing, be at the stop a little earlier. The new times give some leeway, but true punctuality sometimes needs a bit of trust in the weather gods and a good coffee.
